Mainframe Platform Support Services (zOS, zVM and ISV Software Product Support)

Platform Support provides support for the base operating system of in-scope servers. These services include providing support of the Operating System configuration and associated file systems, log files, processes, problem determination, problem resolution, administration tools, utilities, and security. First Data Corp monitoring tools will be used to take advantage of your existing investment in your end-to-end event management infrastructure. First Data Corp change control processes will be followed.



Base activities performed in this service area, at First Data Corp’s direction could include the following:

· Upgrade and maintain the operating system and its ISV software

· Apply corrective services to base operating system and ISV software as required

· Provide software support for pre-approved list of ISV supported software products (dependent on skills availability for specified tools) – the pre-approved list of ISV supported products listed under [TBD specific list]

· Provide or obtain new versions and releases, upgrades, replacements or additional Operating System Software and it's ISV products in accordance with software list provided [TBD specific list] specific to those products that are to be supported by IBM

· Support the operating system and its subsystems, compilers, programming languages, ISV products and operational tools as agreed upon in advance and in accordance with a pre-approved product list [TBD specific list]

· EXITS and USERMOD support: for pre-approved list of EXITS and USERMODS. The policy is to remove customer EXITS and USERMODS where possible

· Apply z/OS maintenance - SMPE installs

· Install and support ISV Software - SMTP/Batmail Support

· Provide Unix System Services (USS) support

· Provide zFS filesystems administration

· Provide NFS mount administration

· Apply corrective services to ISV software as required

· Maintain appropriate configuration file(s) for products owned/leased, installed and managed by First Data Corp

· Maintain installation/maintenance procedures for tools provided and software products that are owned/leased, installed and managed by First Data Corp

· Maintain latest levels of software, where First Data Corp host automation directly supports and owns/leases the software

· Maintain REXX routines

· Maintain First Data Corp’s Installation/Maintenance procedures for tools provided and software products that are managed

· Maintain security compliance posture as per First Data Corp’s security policy

· Adhere to First Data Corp’s Problem/Change Management processes

· Manage non-root application file systems

· Modifying file system sizes

· Verifying mount point availability

· Repairing defective file systems

· Modifying file system permissions

Support Session Manager

Support Data transmission products (e.g. Gentran MVS)
